Sunday 28 February 2010

The weather forecast for today was for it to be pretty storm like, and so as a consequence we planned a very leisurely day with a little waking up with coffee and newspapers, then a little cooking together followed by a slob out in the afternoon with the movie 'Love in the time of Cholera'.The weather turned out pretty nice as it would seem that our European cousins across the channel got the brunt of the bad weather.....terrible, terrible news as it happens!
We were feeling lazy and so decided to carry on with our plans despite the nice day. On the menu today, something neither of us have cooked before.....Lancashire Hotpot!
Well, the recipe seems easy enough..Lamb Chops, Potatoes, Onions, Carrots, Swede, Herbs and stock...........and wine for medicinal purposes!

All in and lightly buttered.....

.......table layed......

Yeah............it worked and was simply delish!!
After falling asleep on the sofa after lunch that was pretty much us done for the day.....very busy day tomorrow....byezeebye!

Sunset at the end of today

  1. Dear Gary, It is years since I had Lancashire Hot Pot and yours looks simply delicious. If only there had been three places at the table!

What a simply exhausting Sunday you had - pretty much like my own! Absolutely lovely, and why not do nothing?
