It's Monday, our wedding anniversary, and it's pouring with rain outside, and I have a poorly Amanda inside. Ah well, 'C'est la vie'.
But it was Valentine weekend, and although not feeling very well, my wonderful wife braved it all and made it to the ballet. We were to see a performance of 'The Nutcracker' being performed by the Moscow City Ballet, and were joined by our dear friend Stella.
After a pre-performance glass of champagne, our excitement mounted as we climbed the stairs to the theatre, and passed posters of the event.
The lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the audience. A quick selfie before turning the phone off completely.
The music started, and the rich red curtains were illuminated, ready to disclose what lay behind.
Needless to say, the performance was excellent, exciting, spectacular, moving. And all over far too quickly.
Ah well, back to reality, and this rainy Monday. I feel that a roast dinner, copious amounts of tea, and a seriously good movie are the order of the day, seeing as my lovely wife is fragile.
How do you celebrate anniversaries?
