Ella

Although last week was very busy indeed, and I have various things to tell about it, and the weekend just gone, nothing overshadows the worry of recent past events.
On Friday, our beautiful grandaughter Ella, at six weeks old, contracted Meningitus. It's so unfair that such a small thing, so innocent and vulnerable should have to bear such a burdon so soon in her tiny life. She is still in hospital, watched over day and night by her mother, and is likely to remain there for a week or more, whilst they pump various drugs into her tiny body to fight this vicious disease. She appears to be responding, and even gave me a smile when I held her and made noises back at her whilst she hiccupped after feeding. I hope she's a little better this evening.

  6. Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts. Indeed, we do have at our disposal the most powerful thing of all to help Ella, in the form of prayer for her recovery.
On visiting her this evening, we now know that it is viral meningitis and she seems to be slowly recovering, although treatment will continue for sometime yet. She certainly has her appetite back!
    Once again....Thank you.
