Cats and Pastors

What a weekend! Saturday was once again a work day, but on the Friday night I took all of my ladies to see Cats. The original musical has been revived, and is currently doing a UK tour, and months ago I was lucky enough to get hold of five tickets.

A table for dinner was booked in the theatre restaurant, and upon arrival a bottle of pink bubbly was ordered.

It was lovely to get all four ladies together for the evening, something that hasn't happened for far too long. The food was totally delicious, and I couldn't believe that two hours had passed and it was time to head to the theatre itself.

Clutch bags were grabbed, the last of the bubbly downed, and we headed down to see the show.

It was the first time Claire and Rebecca had seen a live theatre production, and it made me smile to see their excited faces when we were sat down. Photographs weren't allowed during the performance, and so I had to make do with some at the intermission. The one below is of Deuteronomy having a big yawn and stretch. He had decided to remain on stage during the break, and if you wanted to, you could go up and say hello.

There were names like 'Rum Tum Tugger', 'Mr.Mistoffelees', 'Skimbleshanks', 'Macavity', and of course 'Grizabella', singing her haunting song 'Memories'.

It was a fantastic show, and the songs are still being played back in our minds.

The following day, Celia headed to her sister's in Wales, but because of the work we had lined up on Saturday, our trip up had to be made early on Sunday morning.

It was both a happy and sad day for everyone. Amanda's uncle is/was  a pastor at the local church, and a while ago he had made the huge decision to change both job and home. He was fundamental in our coming to faith, and on Sunday they were having a big farewell bash at his church, as they were moving out the following day to go to live, and run a Christian cafe in Looe in Cornwall.
It was very strange to know that this would be the last time we would stay at this lovely home (below) on the cliff top at Ogmore-by-Sea. Some long and late talks on faith have happened here. But now everything was in boxes. But just as with their lives from now on, those boxes will be unpacked at the other end, and the same things put in different locations, and in an alternative style. They have moved to here, a new life in so many different ways.

See you soon.

  6. P.S. I see that the RB has been open for awhile and it sounds absolutely wonderful. I would love to visit there, but alas, the journey is a little too far. It is a beautiful concept and I pray that many will feel and come to know God's love through it and the love and gospel shared there.

  7. Hi Lorraine,
They are taking over the rusty bucket from another couple. It's quite a place, and to top it all, the flat they have at the top has a pretty good view as well. Looe is a lovely town on the south coast.
