Hat

We had plans for today. We were going to bring down the Christmas decorations from the loft, and check that the lights work. We were going to put a load of stuff into the loft in readiness for some extra space needed throughout the house. We were going to unbury our bedroom, which had become rather untidy over the last few days due to a lack of will power after too many cold and wet gardening days. These are some of the things we were going to do.

It seemed like a good idea when I suggested that before we started any of it, we could perhaps grab a cup of tea and a danish at a vintage goods warehouse on the other side of Bournemouth. It also seemed very wise that as we were going to have to drive through the centre of town, it would also be an excellent plan to stop off for a few minutes to buy a Christmas present that was on our list.

It was very busy in Bournemouth, but great fun browsing the various selections of the necessary goods (can't say what as family and friends read this). It was thirsty work, and by now it was late morning, and so a beer and a hot chocolate in the pop up bavarian bar was a must. We talked, and talked...and talked.

It was gone lunchtime when we finally arrived at the vintage warehouse, and having just had a drink, thought that the only sensible thing to do would be to have a look around the place first. We had never been before, and found quite a number of interesting things that we may go back for after Christmas, as the pennies need to be looked after until then.

The day disappeared all too quickly, and as we sat down with our cup of tea in the little adjoining tea room, we reflected on the fact that absolutely nothing that we had initially planned was going to get done. Maybe tomorrow eh?

Amanda did buy a rather cool hat though. It's going to be her pub and festival hat.
