Another week gone by

Phew!....What a hard and hot week, ending in the extending of a border and planting of the shrubs that I mentioned a couple of posts ago.

As you can see from the picture of part of one of the gardens, things are seriously drying up.
Preparing the ground for planting at the final garden of the week was a nightmare, not just because of the heat, or the soil being as hard as a rock, but mainly because of the fact that as is usually the case with properties under 15 years old, the builders had chosen this area to bury all of their crap! Old cast iron drain pipes, wire mesh and even part of an old JCB bonnet.............Nice!
And so, after it turning into an afternoon of dust and sweat, I had a phonecall from A, inviting me into Westbourne for a tall cold one. Needless to say, within an hour I was home, showered, changed, and human again to enjoy a very tall and cold pint of Peroni!
The temperature tomorrow is supposed to be in the 30's, and we have the lovely occasion of the wedding of As step brother. A lavish do at Wimborne Minster, followed by a marquee reception
in Cranborne. I may even put a picture on here of me in a suit!
As for the present, I am doing this while enjoying a glass of red wine as a wonderful beef stir fry is being perpared by my wife.......life is pretty good, and I thank God for the one that I have.

  1. Sounds like a tough day on the job. Thank goodness your wife didn't call you and say your mother-in-law had a cold tall one in her hand for you , while she was waiting to be rescued in her room, as you would not have shown up to enjoy it ! I thought you needed a reminder again , so there ya go. Keep cool , Gina
