2017

I can't believe that Christmas is here again so quickly. We hung the garden tools up for the year a few days ago, and apart from a bulk load of last minute quotes, and finalising the accounts for the bookkeeper we are now officially done for the year, and can put our gardening feet up.

It's been quite a year, with several more places to look after, and Rebecca now having completed her first full year with us.

She is now about half way through her coursework, and getting 100% in all of her modules, and so well on her way to gaining her RHS certification at the end of it all.

We have met some lovely people along with the new contracts, and although the work has been physically demanding, it has been made all the more enjoyable by their interaction.

There were lots of new planting schemes and soft landscaping thrown in as well, and so far all of it has been met with approval, with ongoing planting to be carried out as soon as we head back out in January.

It's because of all of this that I haven't really had the head space to blog like I have done in the past,

After the usual autumn leaf clearing that goes on for a couple of months, we made sure that any pruning had been done, and that all of the borders were freshly tilthed for the winter.

Where necessary, any last minute lawn mowing was done to tidy the grass.

We even got into our own garden to plant spring bulbs, prune what needed pruning, and weed the worst bits.

All in all a very productive year, with things in the business moving forwards, and 2018 promising to be very exciting, with some major changes to the company happening.

That just leaves now, and I am doing this, with a glass of Benedictine and some Ferrero Rocher choccies to see me through to a supper of trout and dauphinoise potatoes.

In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas, and I look forward to being here a little more afterwards.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS
